Settling In & Moving-In Services

Texas is a place that’s unlike anywhere else in the United States, and “culture shock” can be pretty difficult and confusing for students or workers who have recently arrived in the United States. inlingua’s Welcome to the USA program is designed to help in understanding American culture, with basics such as:

• Cultural training: Meant to familiarize a person with the ABC’s of living in the United States (and specifically in Texas). We’ll cover government, customs, behaviors and cultural norms of Americans to ease the transition to a new country.
• Moving-In Services: A relocation consultant will help with arranging the deliveries and various necessities of getting settled into a new home.
• Settling-In Services: inlingua’s relocation consultant will assist with the next steps of getting acclimated, such as bank accounts, telephone/utility/Internet connections, school inoculations and enrollment, Texas driver’s license and all the other little things that can be so daunting on your own.
• Area tour: This is the most fun part! Your relocation consultant will take you around to see the major attractions and features of Austin and explain how the various transportation routes work. Lunch provided.
